Jonathan Levy is the Chair of the Department of Environmental Health at the Boston University School of Public Health and focuses on urban environmental exposure and health risk modeling. He investigates spatiotemporal exposure patterns and environmental justice issues related to air pollution, climate change, and COVID-19. His recent research includes examining the cardiovascular health effects of aviation-related noise, evaluating the benefits of housing interventions on pediatric asthma, and studying the patterns and predictors of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. He co-directed the interdisciplinary Center for Research on Environmental and Social Stressors in Housing Across the Life Course (CRESSH), focusing on the indoor environment and community-engaged research. Dr. Levy has served on several National Research Council committees, including the Committee on Science for EPA's Future, and the Committee on Improving Risk Analysis Approaches Used by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He is also an Associate Director of the URBAN Ph.D. program.
