Douglas A. Kysar is the Joseph M. Field '55 Professor of Law at Yale Law School and faculty co-director of the Law, Ethics and Animals Program. He is a scholar of product liability and environmental law, known for his interdisciplinary approach that incorporates insights from various relevant disciplines such as psychology, ecology, and philosophy. Before joining Yale Law School, Kysar taught at Cornell Law School and practiced corporate law with Foley Hoag LLP. He has also consulted on litigation matters related to toxic torts and professional responsibility. His work has been published in several prominent law reviews, covering topics such as consumer risk perception, corporate advertising and marketing practices, economic modeling of the environment, and the uses and abuses of scientific information in environmental policy debates. He is also a co-author of textbooks in environmental law, tort law, and products liability law. Professor Kysar earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1998, where he received the Sears Prize and served on the Board of Student Advisors.
